I'm off work for a few days, and I'm hoping to push out at least 10k in three days. Shouldn't be too different from pushing out 20k in 4.
I found Jenna with Ritz in the kitchen, she was sitting at the bar with a pint of ice cream in front of her, licking the spoon casually.
I swiped the pint from her, "Moose tracks?"
"Get your own, Bast." She swiped the ice cream back, I had a feeling she was still mad at me for dumping the salad dressing on her earlier, then again, I had done a few shitty things that day. Covering my sister in salad dressing would probably have ranked lowest on the list.
Ritz laughed from the refrigerator and glanced back at me, "I'm having trouble here, Bas-ti-an. The last time I actually cooked was in nineteen-twenty-two."
I went over to the fridge and looked in.
All the food I had to eat was next to blood. A LOT of blood.
I felt my stomach churn a little and I tried to divert my attention to the food Ritz had ordered. Vegetables, fruit, eggs, cheese...no meat? I guess I should have seen that coming. I guess it wouldn't be too smart to buy meat, it would probably be one of the few things that was appealing to one of the clan members. I would have to make do with what I had, "Jenna, you're eating an omelette."
She made a face, "You're going to make me eat an omelette after what Ms. Helen made me eat?"
Eww, I didn't even think of that. I shook my head and opened the freezer. Great, more blood. And ice cream. More ice cream than blood. I gave a curious look to Ritz and she shrugged, "Do you not like ice cream?"
She was worse than me at groceries, and I sat next to Jenna with a pint of mint chocolate chip, feeling pretty defeated.
Ritz pulled out a bag from the fridge and was about to bite through the tubing when she stopped with her mouth opened. I'm pretty sure I was giving her the ugliest look possible, and Jenna was right next to me with her own mouth wide open, spoon poised right outside, frozen in mid-air.
Ritz closed her mouth and lowered the bag to her side before turning back around and pulling a second one out of the fridge She made an awkward gesture to the door. "I'm going to have my breakfast with Gale."
