Because no matter how long you let Darjeeling steep, its always a little sour.
I can't figure out what color Pandomé's pants should be for the Dalian uniform. I was thinking white, because then it would be a perfect match for Van Dean and would make his part in the military more than obvious. But then I thought of red, not the deep crimson red, fire engine red. Because Pandomé in fire engine red skin-tight pants in 1863 is too hilarious and would show the culture differences immediately. That and she wears sunglasses...lol...she's such a bitch tho...
I also ended up changing Najh from a lynx to a lemur/bush baby sort of monkey, just because its all the more cute and even though half the jokes about no opposeable thumbs sucking will be gone because of it, he really does need to be able to open doors. XD
As far as more writing things, I figured out the Buenan timeline and timekeeping system, which was a bitch because I had to figure out how long Buenans have been around. So they use a system of eons where one eon is one billion years (which it technically is, yay research, its a bitch but makes the end result all the cooler), so you would state the date with the eon first and then the year, unless you are talking about the past year, the present year, or the coming year. Mostly because they live so damn long and there is a chance that someone was around for the last eon. So our year one would have been Eon 5896, Year 7687.
And that was one of my past hurdles. My current one is designing technology for a culture that does not rely on non-renewable resources and is far past the age of nuclear warfare. That and combines all eras in every bit of architecture (making it NOT tacky is going to be difficult).
I work in ten hours...I would have thought I would sleep longer. It looks like Robbie's fever finally broke tho, which is good.
