xhesika: (Mr. Flake)
I think Thriller will still be a huge halloween song, maybe even more now.

Somehow I knew he was dead before the special report clicked over, I just happened to be watching the news.

I told my mother, she was on the phone with dad getting fans for the apartment. She cried.

I guess I could understand why, Micheal Jackson was only a few years older than her and my Dad. They grew up with his music, his was the second album she bought after the Beatles.

He was a pop icon, regardless of such an unlucky life--whether caused by karma or not. It just seems strange to know he's not around anymore. He was considerably more popular outside of the US I believe.

Like my little sister said, "figures a germo-phobe would die of a heart-attack."

I got the editing bits back from a friend of DA who was kind enough to read over a few things that didn't read too smoothly. It really paid off, I had meant to add onto this particular instance because of the questions that arose from it.

Looking back at the original copy, it appears that Kamen does a lot of things that throw Van Dean off. I'm reminded of a dolly, feathers, asps, and a poorly executed monologue of Hamlet. There are too many weird things like that, I even threw in a few of the old ones from the original for shits and giggles, example: ""Sharing" was a touchy subject after an incident involving a jar of peanut butter, a garden hose, and a copy of Pride and Prejudice."

A loose end never wrapped up in the original, of course the original was never actually completed...I guess I rather have to explain sooner or later.

In anycase, I've been doing a little work on a section detailing much of Victor before meeting up with Nancy. I need to find someone who is familiar with british peerage. The idea is that Victor is the great-great-great (?) grandson of Brendon Covington's younger brother, Clouse. Basically, the Covington Estate falls right back into Kamen's hands over a hundred years later after he tries to get rid of it because of the awful memories. (just a kick in the balls for him later) The dilemma is that Brendon Covington was an Earl and I have no idea what this would make Clouse or Victor. While I have done some research on peerage, I haven't been able to find a good site on it and it's rather driving me nuts.

I will have to continue my search.

Comfest tomorrow, I am very excited about it, although it is a pity that JB will not be able to join me. Looks like she is out of town for the next few days? So she is unlucky enough to miss both Pride and Comfest. Such poor planning. (I will keep my actual opinion to myself.) Robbie is excited as well, but his throat has been bothering him, and I hope it won't be an issue as he's been using the chloroseptic a lot. He enjoyed Pride and was looking forward to this ever since I told him about it last year. I love that he doesn't bitch and moan about coming to these events such as Gallery Hop, and that he's actually interested in city life.

EDIT: It looks like I need some clarificaton on Salic Law.

I got a call back from the Columbus Cultural Arts Center.

My first modeling job is on Monday.

Why am I nervous now?
