There are so many words and names I have come up with that I just love the way they feel in my mouth. Q'ael Dan'il is definitely the best name so far, but even the names of random characters feel good in my mouth. Maybe I'll get around to putting up my list of characters up here some time.

In the back corner of the cupboard there was something new, something he had never seen before, but the faint scent emanating from it was enough to stimulate his reflexes and he snatched it up immediately.

It was a jam of sorts, or a honey—he couldn’t be certain, there still many strange dishes he had not sampled. It had a strangely comforting familiarity; he recalled a butter Lillaine often begged Michealis for, it was never as smooth as this, it was grainy and juicy and she would spread it on their bread at lunch when they had gone out to the gardens to play.

He licked his teeth, grimacing over its viscosity and lingering taste, reminiscent of blood.

Butter over bread, a fruit butter, what was it called?

The he recalled Artemis’ aversion to it, how the very smell of it caused her pupils to dilate, and one bite had been enough to warrant a call to the city to send a physician.

Not apricot, but pear.

Everyone is allergic to pears.” He recalled Artemis telling Lillaine late at night, if this was the case, what was this jar doing in the kitchens of Q’ael Dan’il?

Kamen figured the jar would not be missed and with it in hand he swiped a spoon and took the long way to Rei’s office, eating the contents on his walk and feigning for the large comfortable chair behind the desk.

“Keeping out of trouble?” Rei asked him, he hadn’t bothered to make a comment over Kamen’s unannounced arrival and kept his attention on the papers in front of him.

“Trying not to.” Kamen said past the spoon in his mouth.

Rei smirked and let out a humming laugh before looking up from his paperwork to his friend. His expression immediately dropped at the sight of the jar in Kamen’s hands, he had only seen a few things with that particular color. “Where did you get that?”

“It was in the kitchen, in the back of the cupboard. I didn’t think anyone would miss it.” He held it out to Rei, "Want some?"

Rei swallowed hard, “Do you know what that is?”

Kamen shrugged, “Pear butter?”

“Contraband.” Rei swallowed hard and dropped his pen, “That’s ambrosia.”

With a raised eyebrow and a small tilt of his head, Kamen looked down at the jar in his hands, “I don’t feel any different.”

Rei huffed angrily, becoming annoyed with Kamen's ignorance, “Of course you don’t. You’re a jolly human giant.”

Kamen made a face, “What is ambrosia doing in Q’ael Dan’il?”

“I have an idea.” He stood up and inspected the jar closely, making a particularly careful effort to not touch it, “Is it just unmarked like that?”

“There was something on the bottom." He raised the jar up over their heads and the two looked over the bubbles of the glass, one not certain of what they were looking for, and the other terrified at what he found.

Rei's eyes nervously darted from Kamen to the jar and back, "How much of that did you eat?"

"Only a few bites, it's too thick to really eat a lot at once."

Rei swallowed hard, assuming Kamen was telling the truth about how much he had eaten, the jar would have been already half-emptied before Kamen had touched it. The seal on the glass did nothing but add to the unsettled feeling churning in Rei's stomach. The crest of two wyrmlings knotted with each other and swallowing tail of the other was a picture he had the misfortune of knowing all too well. "The dual wyrmling is on the bottom. That jar was manufactured in Dalia." He swallowed hard, "Where is the Orla?"
